The Spaniard Javier Clemente (71), is expected to return to the head of the Libyan team
The Spaniard Javier Clemente (71), should make his return to the head of the Libyan selection. He had led this team from 2013 to 2016, winning in 2014 the African Nations Championship (CHAN) organized in South Africa. Clemente would then resume service after five years of inactivity.
The former coach of Athletic Bilbao, Atletico Madrid and Marseille, but also of Spain, Serbia and Cameroon, is tipped to succeed Montenegrin Zoran Filipovic (68) , appointed last December.
But the former Red Star player Belgrade could not resist the elimination of Libya in qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon in 2022. The North African selection is qualified for the second round qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup. She is in Group F , along with Angola, Egypt and Gabon
