CAN 2021-Ivory Coast: Sinaly Diomandé injured and uncertain

Olympique Lyonnais central defender Sinaly Diomandé may not play his first CAN in Cameroon in a few weeks . The 20-year-old Ivorian indeed injured his left ankle on Sunday during the match between Lyon and Marseille.

The shock was however interrupted after only 3 minutes of play, following a bottle throw at Dimitri Payet. But on the action before the corner, Sinaly Diomandé sprained his ankle.

His coach Peter Bosz said he would be “for a while” in the infirmary. “It’s serious for Sinaly, yes. He has a big sprain ” announces the Dutchman. The defender should in principle no longer set foot on the lawns in 2021.
