CAN 2025: Guinea denounces a “financial lobby”, after the loss of the CAN

CAN 2025 will not be played in Guinea.
It was Friday, September 30 that the Confederation of African Football formalized the withdrawal of the organization of CAN 2025 from Guinea. Decision taken because they were not convinced of the country’s ability to carry out all the work within the time limit. A choice that makes some disappointed in the Guinean ranks, who believe they have been victims of external pressure.

“   It’s a disappointment because, again, like in many international organizations, the financial lobby is more powerful than the realities. We are almost three years away from the deadline. The biggest stadiums that we build today take 24 months to build,   ” lamented Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, government spokesman, in an interview with AFP.
