CAN U23: Guinea could finally receive in Conakry

Guinea had chosen Tanzania to host Uganda for the first leg of the second round of CAN U23 qualifiers. But, the Guineans should rather receive their opponent in Conakry.In a letter addressed to the Conor of FEGUIFOOT, CAF invalidated the choice of Guinea to receive in Tanzania.

For good reason, the stadium chosen by the Guinean authorities is not approved. “We take note of the venue selection decision for your AFCON U23 qualifier. However, please note that the Chamazi stadium (Tanzania) is not homologated for this level of competition”.
And the same note continued: “Please note that the General Lansana Conté stadium is approved to host the CAN U23 qualifying match, so the match should be played in this stadium. We are waiting for your comments on this subject”, informs the courier.
