Rugby Africa Women’s Cup: the Ivorians crush the Burkinabè
Ivory Coast-Burkina Faso (50-10)
The Ivorian women’s rugby union team swept away their Burkinabé counterpart on November 8, 2022 with the final score of 50 to 10 at the Stade Annexe Olembe in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Carried by experienced players like captain Andrea Dirabou or Adeline Lamoine, the team proved to be very convincing and realistic. Leïla Chauveau also shone with a thousand lights during this second meeting.
The Ivorians converted 6 out of 7 tries. All thanks to Leila. After the inaugural defeat against Cameroon, by 8 to 0, the Elephants therefore raise their heads and hope for a Cameroonian misstep during the upcoming confrontation with the girls of the honest country. Only one nation in the Ivory Coast group will qualify for the Women’s Rugby World Cup.
