Watford-OM affair: Pape Gueye suspended for 4 months

Officially suspended by FIFA a few minutes before the game between Senegal and Guineaas part of the 2nd day of the group stage of CAN 2021, Pape Gueye now knows more about the exact nature of his sanction. The Marseille midfielder is suspended for a period of 4 months. Decision taken by FIFA in the context of the dispute between his club OM and Watford for which he had signed a pre-contract. In addition to this suspension of the player, the Marseille club is hit with a recruitment ban for two transfer windows. Either that of summer 2022 and winter 2023.
