World Cup 2026 (Q): Benin with 6 premises for Rwanda and Nigeria
25 Cheetahs selected to play Rwanda and Nigeria.
As part of the 3rd and 4th days of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Africa zone, the Guépards of Benin play the Amavubi of Rwanda (June 6) and the Super Eagles of Nigeria (June 10) at the Félix-Houphouet Boigny stadium in Côte d ‘Ivory. For these two decisive matches, the coach of Benin, Gernot Rohr, called on 25 players including six (06) players playing nationally, namely: Abdoul Karim R. Aziz (Dadjè FC), Rodrigue Fassinou (Loto-Popo FC), Rachid Moumini (Ayéma FC), Rabiou Sankamao (Aspac FC), Prince Ricardo Dossou (Asvo) and Romaric Amoussou (Coton FC).
In addition to the six (06) local players, Rohr summoned Samson Akinyoola from Zamalek SC of Egypt, champions of the 2024 CAF Confederation Cup. The 24-year-old striker will make his real debut with the Cheetahs.
