World Cup Preview – England vs USA | Brazil vs Serbia|Eastafricanreprt

Edge of the Box is back for the second episode of the 2022 World Cup, with host Dan Bardell joined by European football expert Julien Laurensand WhoScored.com‘s very own Ben McAleer to discuss this week’s big talking points.

The show starts with a discussion about the main talking points from matchday one, including how the favourites fared and if the Netherlands should now be considered one of them.

We then move onto England vs USA to discuss Jude Bellingham’s performance against Iran and if there has ever been a more complete midfielder at his age. From that game, there are plaudits for Gareth Southgate’s team selection, despite making some surprising choices.

Ahead of the upcoming game on Friday, USA’s threat is analysed, including their high energy midfield, and how England could potentially break it down, which didn’t look as secure when pegged back by Wales on Monday.

Portugal vs Ghana is the next game up for discussion, with Cristiano Ronaldo the main talking point, and if he should be starting as their main man or if he is a hindrance to the team, similar to his time for Manchester United, and the potential alternatives who could start ahead of the free agent.

The next game highlighted is Brazil vs Serbia and how much of a difficult game it could be for Brazil, with the Serbia team containing a host of highly talented players. Brazil’s full-backs are underlined as a potential weak point.

We finish the show with France vs Denmark, which poses the biggest test in the group for the defending champions, especially as they have lost their last two games against the Danes.
